Rich Internet Applications
Even before Macromedia, now Adobe, first coined the phrase “Rich Internet Application” (RIA) in 2002, Fusebox has been building them. Back then, we had only two choices—build in Flash or use a Java applet. Back then, building an RIA was somewhat of a herculean feat. Fortunately, over the past few years the technologies enabling these applications have matured and evolved, leading to a new era of RIAs.
Fusebox has been there every step of the way. As a result, we have an extensive portfolio of RIA projects including: Alife, Flash/Flex dashboards, real-time trading systems using Java applets, retail selling guides in Flex, digital asset management systems in Flex, Ajax websites with both synchronous and asynchronous communication and our own Empressr, which was featured in the most recent Adobe MAX.
With the abundance of RIA technologies currently available—including Ajax, Adobe Flash, Adobe Flex and AIR, Java applets, OpenLazlo, and now Microsoft’s Silverlight—making the right choice can seem like daunting task. At Fusebox, we take the time to understand our clients’ requirements, so we can propose the right framework, execute the task efficiently and meet users’ needs without delay.
